The Lion King

Last night Buzz took me to see the Lion King at the Civic Theater as an early birthday present. We had such a wonderful night. We ate at Roy's downtown right on the water with a view of the Coronado bridge and then it was off to the show. The costumes and movement of all the animals in this show is amazing. I loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so there are no pictures of us, but a picture of some of the cool costumes I found online.

Happy Ween!

Happy Ween everyone! That's what Carter calls it anyway. He can't quite get out Happy Halloween, so we settled for Happy Ween. What a fun weekend it was. Carter was supposed to dress as a skunk this year, but we could only get the costume on long enough to get a quick picture and then he was done with it. So he was a doctor instead.
He loved carving pumpkins and wanted to help with everything. He did however inform us that the pumpkin guts were ewww gross!
We trick or treated around the neighborhood and he told everyone trick or treat, thank you, and happy halloween. It was so much fun to watch him. I can't believe how big he is getting. He walked the entire community and when he finished at one house he told us next house. Then we came home and posed for a few fun photo's and waiting for the sugar high to wear off and went to bed.

This picture also serves as documentation that I have taken atleast one picture of my rapidly growing belly. 6 weeks to go!

Bates Nut Farm

This weekend we went out to Bates Nut Farm to check and the Pumpkin Patch. I couldn't believe the number of people who drive out to the middle of no where to get pumpkins. That said I guess we did, but still the number of people in 97 degree weather was astounding. We did enjoy the straw maze, tractor ride, animals, store, and pumpkins. I think I like the treats in the store the best and Carter loved the animals.
I think this picture might be in the running for our family Christmas cards!
I am slowly learning about the vast number ostridges in the area and I got to thinking what do you do with an ostridge. But then I saw the signs for ostridge eggs and jerky and I don't think I'm interested in either one.
Fun fact about the hay rides; They have three tractors going, each holds 60 people, each person paid $2 to ride, each ride lasts 5 minutes, and they are open 9 hours a day. How much are they making in one Saturday on tractor rides. Drum roll please... $38,880. Seriously!
Last but not least the pumpkins. Carter climbed right in to the middle of the pumpkins and picked the one he wanted. Unfortunately after much trying he was unable to lift it and had to resign to the fact that Daddy would do it. All in all a fun, but hot day.

Halloween at Disneyland

Last week I met my sisters at Disneyland for a few hours of fun before we got to some work we had to do. I brought my camera intending to get some cute photos with all the fall decorations, but unfortunately my camera turned on in my bag and by the time I tried to take a picture it was dead. So I only got this one with my camera phone.

I think it turned out pretty good and suprisingly I don't think I look as fat as I think I do when I look at myself on a daily basis. So yeah for that!

Up Close and Personal

This week we went to the Wild Animl Park with some friends and had no idea what a treat we were in for with the lion exhibit.

Can you believe this? It was a little scary standing so close even though there was glass in between us it looked like we could be lunch. To bad for my flash and lack of photo shop skill or it might actually look like I put my two year old inches from a massive lion.

Poway Rodeo Weekend

For those of you that don't know we love rodeo. In Livermore where Buzz grew up the rodeo is huge, so we try to make it a tradition each year. This year we had to much fun checking out all the animals and eating all the yummy food. They had a mechanical bull that he and Buzz were watching people ride, so Buzz asked Carter if he liked it and he said "Yes." Then he asked if he wanted to sit on it and he said "no, no, no." He looked to cute sitting on the bench waiting for the rodeo to start.
We decided his little hat was getting snug and needed and upgrade. So we got him his first real cowboy hat and he loves it!
This is his moo face.

Miss Rodeo Universe was quite the catch. She did a little dance on the fence right in front of us, so I couldn't resist taking a picture. Unfortunately, I didn't bring our action camera and missed the photo's of bull's slaming into the fence in front of us and trampling riders flung from their massive body's. I also missed the shot of a judge get run over by a trick horse rider going pretty fast. It was fantastic! Who doesn't like watching people get pummeled by animals. If you love it as much as I do mark your calander for the last weekend in September 2010.

A Slight Confusion

This is our cat Chicken.
I know what your thinking why on earth would you name a cat Chicken. Well you can thank Buzz for that one. I wanted a cat when we were first married and he did not. He told me the only way I could have a cat is if I named her Chicken. So here we are. Today Carter was eating his favorite lunch of chicken nuggets when he started saying "meow meow." The cat was no where around so I wasn't sure what he was doing. Then he said Mommy and pointed to the chicken and said "meow meow." I think he thinks he is eating cat for lunch! While I'm not entirely sure how to explain this situation to a two year old, Buzz and I got a pretty good laugh.
